Yarn Bombing in Fremantle

Yesterday's specialist appt for Joe involved a 3 hour wait to hear that nothing could be done regarding the pain in his cheek after the latest oral surgery.

After I parked the car I walked over to where the wonderful Italian greengrocer and butcher have their shops. I got what I needed, patted the large white dog in the doorway and admired the huge hot arancini(rice balls) for sale. Roma tomatoes for $1.69 a kilo are not to be sneezed at and they had 10kg boxes for $15 too.

Walking back to the hospital by a different route I spotted a yarn-bombed tree that I'd never seen before. Rather timely after seeing a little yarn-bombing in Northbridge 2 days previously. There were even little twirly knitted strings hanging from the branches. It's on the corner of South Terrace and Wray Avenue if you are in the area.

Here are the photos I took and just look at that beautiful seat(try to ignore the tyre place across the road lol)

What do you think....I love it....it makes you see the shape of the beautiful tree, adds colour and conversation and makes me appreciate my very favourite past-time even more.

Have a Terrific Tuesday every-one,
Love from Sue

  5. Hi Christine,

I am making myself get into the habit of always having my little camera in my bag...I download pics and then return it to my bag. Yesterday at the brewery they had the most beautiful native garden, fat yellow kangaroo paws and I could have cried that I didn't have my camera!

You are still in my thoughts, Dragonkaz 'lost' her Dad this week too...

  6. You must have been in the same area as I was on Saturday... I was headed for the Bike shop opposite the hospital and having to park a few streets away ended up walking down Wray Avenue and finding the very same greengrocer (amazing prices!!! Huge aubergine (eggplant) for 99c!!!!)... and I saw some of the bombing on the opposite side of the street. In fact I blogged about it yesterday... over here: http://amoebahandmade.blogspot.com/2011/11/saturday-saunter.html. Quite hard to photograph well and your pictures are great. On the look out for more now!!
