Friday On My Mind...

...when we simply post a photo of something special or "on our minds" and visit others who are playing and leave the link back to our own photo.

Here's a beautiful English china Tea Set given to me recently by our friend Barbara. It was a wedding present to her elderly friend, Ray, who passed away 2 years ago. It seems to be about 50 yrs old and sadly unused. There are 6 cups and saucers and cake plates as well as the elegant milk jug and sugar bowl. A very pretty serving plate completes the set.

What's on your mind today? Hope you have a wonderful weekend, love Sue xx

  2. That's a lovely tea set, you should use it when you can. My MIL has given me a few tea sets and sometimes I get a cup and saucer out just for me, unfortunately they're not something I would use that often in my house. Sometimes I wish I could go back to the old fashioned tea parties, but I don't think that's going to happen.

  3. Thank you Tammy, Wendy and Chris.

Interestingly a friend recently gave her 5 and 7 yrs old daughters a proper afternoon for their joint birthdays...their friends wore posh frocks or shirts and ties and they all drank from china cups, ate dainty sandwiches and fancy little cakes. There are a few cafes around too that 'do' posh old fashioned teas. In Harrogate at Betty's the waitresses still dress in black with white aprons and hats. Ahhh
